In The Dark 03:36
At night I close my eyes To drift off in a dream waiting for me I relax, I breathe deeply But I never make it there I slip in, to the in-between To the unseen They creep in at night I can't move, I can't speak, I can't fight They speak in crowded radio waves Static, a chainsaw in my brain I think I'll never make it out He's gonna keep me here In the dark I'm paralyzed And there's something Rattling in my mind I'm terrified, by these ghosts in the night Oh and they're keeping me here in the other side In the in-between And when the day breaks I feel Illuminated Was it a haunt or was it a visit? We tend to turn to the darkest points of our lives But look another way And you'll see the light In the dark I'm paralyzed And they're after me and they're in my mind I'm terrified by these ghosts in the night Oh and they're keeping me here in the other side In the Dark In the Dark She lay beside My green lady in the night She's electric fire A waterfall of cascading light And she's my friend, she's telling me it's alright In the dark

about

"The Inbetween" is a work-in-progress EP to be expanded into a full length album, set to be released in Summer 2019. It is written based on Lora's own experiences and other's experiences with the phenomena of sleep paralysis. visit www.lorabidner.com to learn more!

"The Imposter Effect" includes real recorded testimony of anonymous people recounting their own experiences with sleep paralysis as well as an audio re-inactment/sound a-like I created of what sleep paralysis sounds and feels like to me (at 4:00). I created most of the experimental sounds you hear in this piece by sampling my own voice, or other recorded items and putting them through various processing, as well as using various sample libraries. I created the drum rhythms at the beginning using a sampled library drum menu and again, putting the drums through various forms of processing. Brigit O'Regan performs on violin in this recording. The change at 5:25 will later be re-worked and turned it to it's own song at a later date, in this part Erik Samuel performs on a live drumset.

"In the Dark" is a song based on my own experience of sleep paralysis. It includes experimental sounds I created by recording various different sounds including my own voice, screamed into the chamber of a grand piano, extended technique on the cello and violin, as well as various other sound and textures, put through several instances of processing. I plan to also re-work this song. In this piece we have
Piano, drum machine, synth and MIDI work, Vocals: Lora Bidner, Violin:Brigit O'Regan, Cello: Sally He, Drumset: Erik Samuel, Beat Boxing: Nicholas Manalo
